Official on-location video production and B-roll service for leading global automotive media outlets, captured on one of Europe’s most challenging mountain passes.
1. The Challenge:
Covering a dual anniversary for global media under high-pressure conditions
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Porsche Turbo—which coincided with the 50th anniversary of Romania’s iconic Transfăgărășan highway—long-term partner Porsche Central and Eastern Europe (PCEE) commissioned Studio 25 as the official on-location video production team. The six-day international event gathered top-tier automotive journalists from across the globe. The mandate required a dual role: providing end-to-end cinematography and technical support for journalists on-site (Instant Media Service), while simultaneously capturing a comprehensive 4K B-roll package and dynamic tracking shots to serve as the brand’s official global press kit.
2. Approach & Logistics:
Car-to-Car tracking and a mobile field workflow
Operating at altitudes exceeding 2,000 meters across dozens of miles of demanding hairpin turns required flawless logistics, speed, and complete technical autonomy:
- Exclusive Museum Fleet: Production encompassed shooting six high-performance models, headlined by a historic trilogy from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart (the original 1974 930 Turbo, the air-cooled 993 Turbo S, and the 996 Turbo S).
- Dynamic Car-to-Car Tracking & Aerial Cinematography: Utilizing specialized tracking vehicles alongside FPV and cinema-grade drones, we secured high-octane driving footage and sweeping cornering lines that media outlets could not technically capture on their own.
- Same-Day Delivery Field System: For journalists arriving without dedicated camera crews, we provided an on-site mobile unit to ingest, edit, and distribute both raw and assembled footage directly from the field within the same day.
- Field Conditions & Safety: Extreme mountain weather shifts and unique environmental factors (including active wildlife along the roadway) demanded relentless safety protocols, highly mobile rigging, and total adaptation to a fast-paced drive schedule.
3. Results & Impact:
The Transfăgărășan project represented a milestone in our multi-year partnership with Porsche Central and Eastern Europe (following flagship activations such as the Taycan Road Tour, Porsche Life Experience, and Porsche Experience Istanbul). The official B-roll package and promotional assets produced by Studio 25 achieved global reach across leading automotive outlets, broadcast networks, and digital platforms—generating millions of impressions and delivering a lasting visual legacy for the brand’s dual anniversary.
